Rage by Zygmunt Miloszewski (2 Stars)

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is one dark tale. Old bones turn out to be not so old bones, and the hunt is on for the killer.

I didn’t realize that this is part 3 of a series, but I don’t think I’ll be going back to read the others.  The plot was good, but the writing is so, so dark.  There are also a lot of characters and a lot of superfluous side stories.  Something may have been lost in the translation, but the book jumped around so often I had trouble keeping track of where I was.

Doesn’t it make you wonder if you really just missed something when everyone else has such a different opinion?  I read some other reviews which said it was fast-paced (I thought it plodded along), full of wit and brilliantly portrayed characters (not so much), and someone said they snorted with laughter (not once!).

So, if you like dark, dark gruesome stories, then maybe this one is for you.
